I made a particularly good saving on my Canon wide angle 10-22mm saving about £150 off the street prices at the time. The Canon 10-22mm is an amazing lens for the money. It’s up there with any ‘L’ lens in terms of picture and build quality – it just doesn’t come with the badge – or the price tag! This lens is on my camera 90% of the time as I tend to specialise in wide angle long exposure land and seascapes. One particularly great feature of this lens is the ability to shoot into reasonably strong light without flare, which is particularly important in a lot of my shots. I was initially torn between the Sigma 10-20mm and the Canon 10-22mm but I’m really glad I opted for the Canon. Knowing that I have the best lens for that range on my Canon 50D cropped sensor is a nice feeling. In fact, I love this lens so much that it is holding me back from progressing to the Canon 5DMk II as I’d have to change to another wide angle lens! You won’t regret buying this lens – it really is the top of its class.March 6th 2012

The Mk II, the lens which had received all the plaudits, was a bit more expensive than I was prepared to pay from a UK based source, so I started looking at the Hong Kong based suppliers. I came across comments from both well satisfied and from very upset customers, and as I looked more deeply into these suppliers I encountered the 'talk photography' forum. Here, I noticed sufficient adverse comment about Hong Kong suppliers to make me wary, but I also kept encountering the name 'kerso', with very favourable comment about their prices for camera bodies, lenses, etc for the majors such as Canon, Nikon, etc as well as speed of delivery, and most important, their reliability and honesty. I found 'kerso' to be Ian Kerr, trading from Scotland with a web-site called 'Flash Camera'. I duly contacted Ian via his web site 'live-chat', and found that the prices charged offer a significant discount cf the UK High Street, and brought the Mk II lens within my reach. The universally positive comments that I read on the 'talk photography' forum, combined with Ian's prompt responses to my queries led me to feel that I could deal confidently with 'Flash Camera'. I duly ordered my lens, and it was delivered bang on time! I shall be very happy to deal with Ian again in the near future."March 4th 2012

I was first directed to Flashcamera by members of a Canon camera forum. At the time I was looking for a 70-200mm f2.8L IS lens and had searched the web for the best deals, there were the mass of deals on eBay from all over the world (mainly the far east) but having had a bad experience previously with customs, delays and tax on smaller items I didn't want to risk the sums of money required for this lens. So with the strong recommendations from the forum I approached FlashCamera and found the prices on par with the majority of the foreign importers but with the added bonus of being based in Scotland with all taxes/duties paid and if close enough, pickup available. Since that first purchase I have continued to buy my lenses and other photographic items from FlashCamera with total confidence and peace of mind and can comfortably recommend FlashCamera to anyone who wants to buy camera equipment regardless of make.March 4th 2012

The lens arrived very quickly and was well packaged. Everything was as it should be and the whole experience was excellent. One of the reasons that I chose to purchase my lens from 'Flash Camera' was the warrantee that covered this lens making the whole experience as stress free as possible. Many other sellers use grey imports that are not covered by Canon's warrantee and obviously this is a huge risk to take when you're spending that kind of money.Would I use 'Flash Camera' again? I ordered on Tuesday evening and the lens arrived just after 4pm on Tursday! The fact that it was cheaper than the HK dealer I tried (won't be using them again) and almost £200 cheaper then the cheapest "big name" UK Dealer made the purchase so much easier. Photography is an expensive hobby / addiction, its nice to have somebody who is honest and won't rip you off. The delivery is all recorded and quick (perfect from an online retailer!) I came across someone mentioning Flash Camera on a photography blog site and the great deals on Canon equipment and number of people were saying how great the service was. I was originally looking to purchase the lens from companies abroad but had concerns about import duty and shipping. Once I found the website of Flash Camera I was surprised to find the price for the lens was in fact cheaper then those companies who traded abroad. This came about when I discovered how badly I was being ripped off by High Street Retailers especially where photographic equipment is concerned. The only danger when purchasing Cameras etc is the growing number of Internet Suppliers who appear to be very dubious. This is very worrying where warranties and delivery promises are concerned. Another very worrying issue from overseas suppliers is that most do not make it clear that Import Duty and Vat is payable on top of the purchase price so the goods are not the bargain they appear to be. This is no longer of any concern to me after discovering Flash Camera and Proprieter Ian Kerr. In the last few weeks I have purchased an Olympus 50mm F2 lens which was priced at similar cost to second hand units even though it was Brand New with a genuine Warranty. This was my first test transaction and I was so pleased that I then ordered The Olympus E5 with HLD4 Grip/Battery Pack and a spare battery. The purchases arrived very quickly and as described Brand New at amazingly low prices and communications between Flash Camera and Customer are excellent. In future I will not even bother to shop around for Photographic Equipment but go straight to Flash Camera. I have spent the last 30 years advising companies globally on how to improve their Image and Customer Satisfaction Technigues therfore I should be judged to be an expert. I had already bought the 20D camera before discovering Ian and having bought a cheap initial lens I started to look for better equipment as I quickly grew out of it. And it was Ian who was able to provide the right kit at the right prices. Within a few months I had bought a lot of kit through Ian and had lots of discussions and chats with him on the telephone. I bought a 580EX flash, a 70-200 f4L, 100mm f2.8 Macro, a 50mm f1.4, an 85mm f1.8 and a 300mm f4L IS (amongst other things)! Every transaction was perfect. I eventually met Ian in February 2006 when he hand delivered a 600mm f4L IS to a friend of mine! He event took us for lunch under the Forth Bridge- That’s the type of guy he is. First thing I bought from Ian in 2005 was through ebay and the transaction went very well. Over the next few months I then used BT and also picked up a couple of lenses from Fife (I live in the west of Scotland so not that far away). After selling the 70-200 f4L I bought the 70-200 f2.8L IS (MkI) again from Ian and this was the first time I had a problem with a lens. Not Ian’s fault as the lens had a very stiff zoom ring – nothing to do with Ian - but it was his service that was outstanding and the lens was delivered back to him one day and two days later I’d received a replacement.One other point that was important is when Canon do a cashback service, Ian will provide a UK receipt and the cashbacks can be claimed without issue. Saved me even more!I have again just purchased a further lens from Ian this week (Canon’s 24-70 f2.8L) and I expect the same fantastic service from an honest and trustworthy guy. I had decided over the weekend to buy a Canon 300mm f4 and had looked all over the ‘net and local stores when I remembered I had bought my previous lenses from you. The website showed out of stock and I was hoping to get the lens for the end of the week so I emailed a question about re-stocking on Sunday expecting an answer on Monday. Not only did I get an answer that night but the last one in stock was put in the shop allowing me to purchase it there and then. Monday saw the payment clear and here we are on the Tuesday looking at the lens.However, this was not the end of the excellent service, I was given a discount voucher which unfortunately wasn’t accepted at the checkout. I paid in full so as not to slow things down but also had the refund back on Monday. All along I was kept fully updated of exactly what was happening with the order and payment.We don’t always appreciate good customer service, but when it’s coupled with fantastic value for money there aren’t enough superlatives to express satisfaction at a job exceedingly well done. I made a particularly good saving on my Canon wide angle 10-22mm saving about £150 off the street prices at the time. The Canon 10-22mm is an amazing lens for the money. It’s up there with any ‘L’ lens in terms of picture and build quality – it just doesn’t come with the badge – or the price tag! This lens is on my camera 90% of the time as I tend to specialise in wide angle long exposure land and seascapes. One particularly great feature of this lens is the ability to shoot into reasonably strong light without flare, which is particularly important in a lot of my shots. I was initially torn between the Sigma 10-20mm and the Canon 10-22mm but I’m really glad I opted for the Canon. Knowing that I have the best lens for that range on my Canon 50D cropped sensor is a nice feeling. In fact, I love this lens so much that it is holding me back from progressing to the Canon 5DMk II as I’d have to change to another wide angle lens! Once I found the website of Flash Camera I was surprised to find the price for the lens was in fact cheaper then those companies who traded abroad. My son Denis and I both started Photography approx 3 Years ago with a Canon 450D and two lenses an 18-55MM and 55-250MM Lenses. After approx 18 Months we both felt that we had to move on from the Starter DSLR and to bigger and better things. At first we bought two Canon 7DS DSLRS and decided to go for all the above Canon Prime Lenses as our intention was further down the line to purchase two full Frame Canon 5Ds Mark 2 DSLRS, hence the reason for buying the Prime lenses. We purchased all the above from Ian at Flash Camera we both felt that the service we got from Ian was above and beyond the call of duty. He kept us both informed at all times about delivery dates and before any item was delivered he gave us a Tracking Order for same. This came about when I discovered how badly I was being ripped off by High Street Retailers especially where photographic equipment is concerned. The only danger when purchasing Cameras etc is the growing number of Internet Suppliers who appear to be very dubious. This is very worrying where warranties and delivery promises are concerned. Another very worrying issue from overseas suppliers is that most do not make it clear that Import Duty and Vat is payable on top of the purchase price so the goods are not the bargain they appear to be. This is no longer of any concern to me after discovering Flash Camera and Proprieter Ian Kerr. In the last few weeks I have purchased an Olympus 50mm F2 lens which was priced at similar cost to second hand units even though it was Brand New with a genuine Warranty. This was my first test transaction and I was so pleased that I then ordered The Olympus E5 with HLD4 Grip/Battery Pack and a spare battery. The purchases arrived very quickly and as described Brand New at amazingly low prices and communications between Flash Camera and Customer are excellent. In future I will not even bother to shop around for Photographic Equipment but go straight to Flash Camera. I had already bought the 20D camera before discovering Ian and having bought a cheap initial lens I started to look for better equipment as I quickly grew out of it. And it was Ian who was able to provide the right kit at the right prices. Within a few months I had bought a lot of kit through Ian and had lots of discussions and chats with him on the telephone. I bought a 580EX flash, a 70-200 f4L, 100mm f2.8 Macro, a 50mm f1.4, an 85mm f1.8 and a 300mm f4L IS (amongst other things)! Every transaction was perfect. I eventually met Ian in February 2006 when he hand delivered a 600mm f4L IS to a friend of mine! He event took us for lunch under the Forth Bridge- That’s the type of guy he is. First thing I bought from Ian in 2005 was through ebay and the transaction went very well. Over the next few months I then used BT and also picked up a couple of lenses from Fife (I live in the west of Scotland so not that far away). After selling the 70-200 f4L I bought the 70-200 f2.8L IS (MkI) again from Ian and this was the first time I had a problem with a lens. Not Ian’s fault as the lens had a very stiff zoom ring – nothing to do with Ian - but it was his service that was outstanding and the lens was delivered back to him one day and two days later I’d received a replacement.One other point that was important is when Canon do a cashback service, Ian will provide a UK receipt and the cashbacks can be claimed without issue. Saved me even more!I have again just purchased a further lens from Ian this week (Canon’s 24-70 f2.8L) and I expect the same fantastic service from an honest and trustworthy guy.
